Here’s how that works in plain language.
- Buy a qualifying First-Time Buyer special from Carpenter’s Campers.
- Camp in it for up to one year. Take trips, make memories, and really figure out what you want in your next RV.
- Trade it in within the first 12 months toward a new RV of greater value, and you’ll get what you paid for your First-Time Buyer RV credited toward the MSRP of your upgrade. You’ll pay less in taxes on your new RV purchase.
So in effect, you’ve camped for a year and then rolled your purchase price into your new RV—like your first RV was a “test drive” for the RV lifestyle.
How the First-Time Buyer Upgrade Program Works
Step 1: Choose Your First RV

Step 2: Enjoy Your RV for Up to a Year
Use your RV as much as you like during that first year for:

Step 3: Trade Up Within 12 Months
When you’re ready to upgrade:
- Trade in your First-Time Buyer RV within the first 12 months
- Your original purchase price is applied as credit toward the MSRP of a new model RV of greater value, so you pay less in taxes on the new RV
- You move into a larger, newer, or more feature-packed RV with a head start on equity
Who Qualifies for the First-Time Buyer Program?
To take advantage of this program, participants must:
- Have purchased their first RV within the last 12 months
- Be the original registered owner of the RV
- Have maintained the RV in excellent condition, free of damages
